Two Day Creative Felt Weekend
Each of the two days runs from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and take place in or near Penkridge. (please arrive by 9:45 a.m. so we can start promptly).
Cost per course is £130 and includes all materials (except where a small fee is indicated for extra materials needed to make a Nuno scarf or an upholstered footstool)
Wet wool felting is a very versatile medium and allows you to make flat pieces such as a picture, 3 dimensional objects such as a bag or a scarf. Needle felting is a dry technique that can be used to create flat pieces such as a picture or a small sculpture such as an animal.
You will have the opportunity to experiment with the wool fibres and choose to make two or three items from the list below:
- A large felt picture
- An upholstered footstool
- A seamless bag
- A pair of slippers
- A tea cosy or bowl
- A Nuno Felted Scarf
- A warm woolly scarf
- Needle felted animal or picture
I would suggest that the wet felting take place on the first day and that you decide whether you would like to do another wet felted item or needle felting on the second day.
Participant numbers are kept small to ensure that you get lots of attention over the weekend.
Additional materials required:
- a Nuno Felted Scarf requires a very fine silk or polyester scarf as the base layer. You can bring your own or purchase a 100% silk scarf on the day for £12.
- a footstool requires a base wooden stool onto which you will upholster your felt piece. The footstool base is supplid. It is 10inch x 10inch square approx and costs £10.
A light lunch and other refreshments are provided.
If you are travelling some distance you may like to spend 1 or 2 nights in a local Hotel or B&B. Please email me for recommendations if you wish.
