Primary School Courses – Feltmaking & Other ProjectsWe work with you to achieve a new learning experience in your school. Courses are popular in Primary and Secondary Schools, in key stages 2,3 and 4.
Feltmaking Day & other creative courses below Feltmaking is a fabulous medium for the children to explore. Many children haven’t got a clue where Felt comes from, so the day covers aspects of the sheering process and why.
Using 100% natural wool, courses are tailor made to suit your own specific requirements to work within curriculum guidelines.
A wall hanging looks fabulous or you may choose to have individual pieces.
All levels of ability and ages achieve wonderful results with this exciting process of working with natural wool fibres.
Art & Design – We cover pattern, shape, texture and the exploration of using recycled materials.
Literacy – Speaking and listening – A written project usually follows on from our day.
Numeracy – Area and calculations- weighing the wool.
Science – Wool fibres felt together, great example of irreversible changes.
History – Mongolian Nomads today still live in wool yurt to enable them to travel and take their home with them. Information is given on this topic which in turn leads to a history project
