Feltmaking and Creative Courses in the Midlands

Discover the ancient art form of feltmaking by joining one of my courses, Stafford based. I will show you how to turn scrummy wool fibres into your very own unique piece of work. Take a look at our Feltmaking Course Dates, Childrens parties and School courses and come and share a fun day or weekend being creative.
Gallery coming soon and scrummy felt ipod holders, bags, scarves and wall-hangings for sale.

I will start by telling you a little about myself. I have always loved working with textiles. I have a background going way back since leaving school, working in interior design and having a small business. But my love really lay in creating new fabric designs myself. I had the opportunity of going back to university as a mature student and I chose to do a textile design degree.

I fell in love with feltmaking, it is fascinating how natural lamb’s wool fibres in the raw stage and silk waste can create such amazingly creative works of art and functional pieces to wear. Keep looking to see my new garments- coming soon.

I teach in colleges, schools and run private and community classes. I particularly love teaching children, they have  no fear and dive in with great enthusiasm, children’s parties are great fun to do too. My courses are informal, fun and friendly and a great place to learn new and exciting felting skills, and you take home an amazing scarf, bag or wall-hanging to display and impress your friends. No experience of creativity needed, so don’t be scared, I have bundles of creative ideas to help you along.

I have lots of inspirational ideas and imagery to share, but encourage you to use your imagination with gentle guidance and encouragement. I have a versatility and uniqueness with so many examples to share, including exquisite felted scarves, wall hangings, bowls and jewellery for you to touch and ask questions on techniques.

See my prize piece i.e. my rug that I made on a course in Konya –  Turkey

I run a very colourful slide show presentation of my fascinating trip to Turkey – For Embroiderers Guild, Women’s Institutes etc.
